How healthy is your thyroid? (Part 2 of 2)

The thyroid gland, which is situated in your lower throat area produces hormones that affect every major organ and metabolism of every single cell & has a major influence on hormonal function. It is very closely related to adrenal exhaustion which is often the root cause of thyroid gland imbalances. The adrenal glands control the hormonal balance in the body in close association with the master gland of the body. The master gland is known as the hypothalamus. When the adrenals are burned out they then drain others parts of the body too. Metabolism is the key function of the thyroid gland. Metabolism is the rate at which your body uses up [Read more...]

Life or death? Water Can Make the Difference!…

TV is not something I enjoy very much, however I love movies which make me feel good or laugh or documentaries which increase my awareness of the world’s cultures, nature, health and so on…recently I saw this documentary and it actually almost brought a tear to my eye…to see the women struggling in the heat to get some water…please read below… Life or death? Water Can Make the Difference!… Imagine being in a remote village in Africa on the edge of the Sahara desert, where you and a number of other local women of all ages even your eight year old daughter, get prepared to head off with little food, as many empty containers [Read more...]

Leaky Gut…

Are you suffering from this? The answer maybe yes and you may not even know it! I am going to explain this in non-medical and non-technical terms. Think of it this way, if you put fuel into your car and a few seconds later you hear it coming out somewhere…Uh Oh!…you know something is wrong!!!. What will you do, stop the pump, stop filling up and go have a look. If there is a leak you are not going to continue putting the fuel in. Unfortunately, with your gut you cannot just stop putting the food (your fuel) in, however you can change the type of fuel. Basically when the gut becomes permeable, the food passes right through into the blood stream [Read more...]

Frequent Sore Throats a Common Occurrence for You?

If you tend to suffer from persistent sore throats it usually means your immune system is struggling to cope and rundown. Your bodies’ immune system can become quickly depleted from poor sleep, poor dietary choices, toxins e.g. viral, bacterial, food intolerances, stress. With the onset of a cold and sore throat, it is important to give your immune system every chance possible to fight the infection. You can do this by eliminating sugar in all its forms, greatly cut down or avoid white flour based products, snacks, cakes, pastas, and so on as these carbohydrates are quickly turned into sugars in the body and therefore have a similar effect [Read more...]

You can’t have one without the other!!

Have you guessed what I’m referring to? Probably not, as you are rarely told about it. When you complain of your irritable bowel or constipation or any kind of bowel problem you are generally told to increase your fibre intake. The truth of the matter is fibre is essential for a daily healthy bowel movement. However, water is even more important…as FIBRE cannot work without sufficient water to pass the fibre through. Today I decided to write this article as over the past few weeks I have been working with an amazing lady who suffered from a lot of tiredness and had irregular bowel movements. On top of this she had a series of other complaints [Read more...]

Are you in the thyroid trap? Part II

Last week I outlined about the functioning of the thyroid gland and many other related parts of the body. Living with someone who has some or many of the symptoms of thyroid malfunction can be very frustrating especially if they are unaware they have a thyroid problem in the first place. Through my treatments I can test where the imbalance is and if there are others factors draining the adrenals, the master gland etc. Rebalancing is purely natural and does not involve taking medication for the rest of your life. Sometimes medication is essential, many other times it is only needed to reboot the thyroid short term, and long term medication Is [Read more...]

Be Breast Aware…

Do you suffer from tender, puffy, enlarged, aching and sore breasts? Often this is suffered in silence due to embarrassment or thinking it is the norm. Breast congestion can be relieved amazingly through kinesiology techniques which reduce chest congestion .You can do one of these at home yourself, make your right hand into a fist like shape, massage firmly from the knee upwards on the outside of the leg (along trouser seam) towards the hip while at the same time holding the tender area of your breast. Repeat for 20 seconds or so until you feel the tenderness and discomfort ease. Repeat on left side also if necessary. A little breast tenderness [Read more...]

3 Common Reasons for Feeling Unwell

1. Lack of sleep This really goes without saying, yet 95% of us do not get enough sleep.  For some there may be sleep issues, insomnia, kidney, prostate, bladder problems resulting in disturbed sleep or for many others it is burning the candle at both ends. This can lead onto toxic waste buildup, sluggishness, digestive problems, mood swings, irritability, nausea, dizziness, headaches, migraines, lowered immunity and more.  Aim to get as much sleep as possible.  Catnap during the day if you have to or if you have the opportunity, [Read more...]
